From Requirement to Readiness in Days

Delivering assured training before the operational window closed

Overview

A UK Defence organisation needed to respond to a rapidly evolving capability requirement – and needed training in place before the window closed. Traditional development processes, measured in months and years, were not an option. By deploying Shadow, Schema, and Sphere as an integrated pipeline, Agilexe compressed the entire journey from operational requirement to delivered training materials into days, keeping the organisation firmly inside the technological development loop.

Challenge

  • A new capability requirement demanded trained personnel faster than conventional DSAT processes could deliver.
  • Existing content development relied on fragmented, manual workflows with no traceability back to the original operational requirement.
  • Training materials were produced in isolation from the analysis and design stages, creating rework cycles and assurance gaps.
  • SMEs lacked visibility of the full range of delivery formats available, limiting training to familiar but sub-optimal approaches.
  • The organisation needed content that would satisfy assurance requirements first time, without multiple review iterations.

Solution

Agilexe deployed its full training pipeline, connecting Shadow, SchemaSphere and Sift into a single assured workflow. Shadow defined the exact competencies required against the new capability. Schema structured the training design, producing a fully traceable curriculum aligned to those requirements. Sphere then generated the delivery materials directly from the Schema design, ensuring every element of content remained traceable to its originating operational requirement and contextually aligned via Sift.

Critically, Sphere expanded what the organisation thought was possible. Rather than reproducing familiar formats, it surfaced a broader range of delivery approaches – scenario-based exercises, structured reference materials, interactive assessments – all pre-validated against the training design.

Key features included:

  • End-to-end DSAT pipeline from requirement to delivered content.
  • Full traceability from operational requirement through to every training material.
  • AI-generated content validated against the design at every stage.
  • Broader range of delivery formats, expanding SME thinking beyond conventional approaches.
  • Assured content ready for quality review first time, eliminating iterative rework cycles.

Impact

The difference was not simply speed – it was strategic relevance. By compressing the full DSAT lifecycle into a matter of days, the organisation was able to field trained personnel on a new capability before the operational context had moved on. In an environment where adversaries evolve faster than traditional training systems can respond, that matters.

Sphere delivered content that customers consistently describe as reaching an 80% solution on first pass – more varied, more imaginative, and more operationally relevant than manually produced alternatives. Every material remained fully traceable back to the original operational requirement, removing the assurance burden from quality managers and eliminating the review cycles that typically consume weeks of expert time. For the first time, training kept pace with capability.

We needed trained personnel before the operational window closed. Agilexe took us from operational requirement to assured training materials in days, not months. The content Sphere produced was more varied and more operationally relevant than anything we’d seen from a conventional process – and every element traced back to the original requirement. That changes the game for us.
